The Stubai Alps, located in western Austria, are a breathtaking mountain range that offer some of the most stunning photography locations in the country. With peaks reaching over 3,000 meters, the Stubai Alps provide a dramatic backdrop for any photographer looking to capture the beauty of the Austrian Alps. From the picturesque villages nestled in the valleys to the crystal-clear lakes and glaciers, there are endless opportunities for landscape and nature photography. The Stubai Glacier, the largest glacier ski resort in Austria, is also a popular spot for photographers looking to capture the beauty of the snow-capped mountains and the skiers carving their way down the slopes.
The new Pema Tower in Innsbruck. More perspectives to discover.
Back to my town Innsbruck with some architectural stuff. At blue hour I like to stroll the area near the station, around the so called "Pema" towers. The reflecting glass facade attracts me over and over again. Still the perfect light tracks are missing in this shot. Using the Fuji X-T3, 16mm prime-lens with a panorama head makes it hard to catch constant light tracks at multiple exposures. I'll try again!
With this atmospheric view of the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, I would like to thank all of my friends, followers and visitors to my Flickr site and wish them a Merry Christmas and good luck and health for the new year. I'm looking forward to your new photographic highlights and creative exchanges with all of you in the new year. With best regards from Tyrol, Walter
Spring is slowly approaching at Lake Obernberger. Shortly after the last snow has melted there are a few small flowers blooming and the cold wind from the snow-capped mountains blows a slight ripple on the surface of the lake. A beautiful nature experience at any time of the year.
Autumn in the "Hofgarten" in Innsbruck.
The new House of Musik in Innsbruck.
Even if a little late, I finally made it to my favorite autumn photo spot. The snow wich has fallen a week ago took something away from the color harmony of this unique larch forest but nevertheless it was a beautiful hike. Now the winter can come.
Panorama, 8 vertical shots HDR -1/0/+1 stops, stiched in LR, original size 20000 px
One more from yesterday's trip to the beautiful Obernberger lake. Tried to get some more atmosphere into the scene here. Hope you like it!
Winter evening at Obernberg am Brenner, Austria, happy weekend to all.
And oh what is the deal with the new user agreement we've been asked to agree...
This Christmas decoration of the "Maria Theresienstrasse" in Innsbruck is not really new but always worth a stroll at dusk. Took this pano a few times before but the results are different each time. Also a little bit less busi this year because of Covid.
Another step to a modern city.
At least one visit at the "Innsbrucker Hofgarten" in autumn is a must. I just love this view of the pavilion with the yellow chestnut trees and the nice reflections in the pond beside. Tried to get som of the leaves in focus this time. 2 shots focus stacked, HDR.

One more time I show you the probably most popular view of Innsbruck. I missed the last sunrays on the peaks of the Nordkette just for a few minutes but the light made the shot instead.
Absolute peace and harmony at the "Salfeins" lake. Such a night is very rare in summer in the alps.
I could not leave this beautiful scenery without taking at least one large panorama. I chose my 35mm f 1.4 which is my favourite Fujinon lens for this purpose. Took 8 vertical frames with 18 000 pixels first, before cutting and reducing it to this final size.

Not the most common view of Innsbruck old town. A 180 degree panorama at the corner of "golden roof". Sorry for the absurd distortion, I should have taken some more time to fix this.
Imposing modern architecture from LAAC-architects Katrin Aste and Frank Ludin. This striking structure in steel and glass reflects the surrounding mountain scenery of Innsbruck from every point of view.
The roof terrace of Pema 2. Nice overview on the entire train station area, Pema 1 and even the lights of Seegrube and Hafelekar in the far.

Lake Obernberg on a cloudy day. This time at a very high water level.
A calm evening at the Salfeinssee in Tyrol. Never had a clearer reflection in that lake.
Autumn is the best time of the year to enjoy the beauty of tyrolian mountains. This small lake near "Kemater Alm" is one of my favorite spots and this time we were very lucky to get such beautiful light.
This row of colorful facades is probably the best known view of Innsbruck. Photographed millions of times and yet always a charming motif. The fresh winterly colors and the graffity under the bridge, wich I noticed for the first time, made me pressing the shutter.
Autumn at a place near Innsbruck, called "Eulenwiesen", famous for its beautiful Larch woods. I've been there a few times before, but never got it that colorful.
(Wikipedia)
Found this lovely little chapel high above the entrance to the Ötztal in Haimingerberg. The blooming meadows and some fluffy clouds made the shot complete.
Thanks to all Phoide contributors to Stubai Alps!
Most notably Walter Maurer.
