Wharariki Beach, Puponga, New Zealand
A memorable evening at Wharariki Beach in New Zealand. It was very windy and tons of sand were blown right into my direction. I got a nice peeling in my face ;-)
This photo is a blend of a couple exposures for dynamic range and for focus stacking. If you're interested in how I do this you might be interested in my Exposure blending tutorial.

On the first day of 2018 I decided to get up early, pack my camera bag with my new nd filter I wanted to try out, and go on a trail walk into Wainui Falls, once I got there, I realised I was the only one there, so I quickly setup my tripod, and managed to get this amazing shot just before all of the tourists showed up.

A few days ago I returned from a 4-week trip through New Zealand. The first photo I show you was taken on the very windy Wharariki Beach. The days we were there we had some severe gale and I still had some nasty sand corns in my eyes days after taking this photo. At least I had my camera securely wrapped in plastic bags for this shoot.
