The Transamerica Pyramid is an iconic skyscraper located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District. Standing at 853 feet tall, it is the tallest building in the city and a popular landmark for both locals and tourists. The unique design of the building, with its triangular shape and sleek lines, makes it a popular subject for photographers. There are several great photography locations around the Transamerica Pyramid, including the nearby Redwood Park, which offers stunning views of the building against a backdrop of lush greenery. Other popular spots include the Embarcadero waterfront and the rooftop of the nearby Salesforce Tower, which provides a bird's eye view of the city and the Pyramid itself.
In American architecture, painted ladies are Victorian and Edwardian houses and buildings repainted, starting in the 1960s, in three or more colors that embellish or enhance their architectural details.
We really had fine weather while in San Francisco back in may. A little bit too good maybe. No deep fog rolling in at the Golden Gate bridge so I looked for other things to shoot. Here's a view from Pier 7. I was fine tuning the compostiion for nearly half an hour till I found the right spot and everything aligned perfectly.

In 1963, San Francisco artist Butch Kardum began combining intense blues and greens on the exterior of his Italianate-style Victorian house. His house was criticized by some, but other neighbors began to copy the bright colors on their own houses. Kardum became a color designer, and he and other artists / colorists such as Tony Canaletich, Bob Buckter, and Jazon Wonders began to transform dozens of gray houses into Painted Ladies. By the 1970s, the colorist movement, as it was called, had changed entire streets and neighborhoods. This process continues to this day.
One of the best-known groups of "Painted Ladies" is the row of Victorian houses at 710–720 Steiner Street, across from Alamo Square park, in San Francisco. It is sometimes known as "Postcard Row"; they are also known as the Seven Sisters.
