Dear friends, a quick hello from Helsinki where I am traveling now. Yesterday I had a great night photo outing with local flickr buddy and excellent landscape photographer Rob Orthen. We will go out together again for a sunset and sunrise shooting.

I am on a busy schedule here so won't have much time to visit your streams. Sorry about that!

Thanks to my buddy Rob Orthen for taking me to that remote place called Porkalla. The plan was to shoot a sunset, but unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather. Nevertheless, we had a great time, that place is awesome! It was windy and cold, but after that we had a traditional Finnish sauna!

Taken at dusk (at this latitude, the blue hour last for much longer time than near to the equator, which is a great advantage for night photographers!), 15 minutes walk from my hotel in downtown Helsinki, a place called Ursinin Kallio.

4 exposures digital blending, the longest exposure being 2 minutes at f/22. No color processing, these are the colors captured by the D300 sensor.

It was great to have those dramatic cloudy skies in Helsinki! Currently living in a cloudless country, and after seeing such scene you realize how much you miss them!

Digitally blended Vertorama, multiple exposures with and without ND400 filter. The sky was looking so great that I did not want to use a long exposure for it.
