Wesel
From 1874 till 1945 this was the longest railway bridge of Europe. It has been destroyed by the withdrawing german army early 1945, before the british troops arrived to Wesel. The bridge has never been rebuilt.

Die Brücke war ursprünglich für 20 Jahre Betriebszeit gedacht, war aber 59 Jahre benutzt. Die Spuren der Stahlkorrosion sind deutlich zu sehen.
