Dusk in Fjallsarlon
Fjallsárlón
by Juan Carlos Ruiz San Millán

Another shot from our trip to Iceland last month. This is the lake of Fjallsarlon, a place not so famous as Jokulsarlon but extremely beautiful and almost empty of tourists what allowed us to take as many photos as we wanted. The light was slowly going down as it happens in this area of the earth and the sky took that wonderful pink color before the darkness arrived. A moment full of calm. Hope you like it.

Ice Procession
Fjallsárlón
by Neil Bond

A close view of the glacial ice field, which forms the stunning backdrop to Fjallsárlón lake, to the west of Jökulsárlón, Iceland.

This was taken at 400mm and then cropped from the image below, as I feel it emphasizes the fissures and makes for a more compelling composition.

I prefer the colouration and variety of textures in the wider shot, however.

To give a sense of scale, this was shot from the opposite side of the lake, which measures approximately 1 mile across, as measured on Google Earth.
