I posted a similar shot last year, but the wing of the bird was slightly cropped. I think this composition is more balanced. It required more processing as there was another boat and fisherman on the right of the bird's wing which I had to clone out.
Surreal processing on purpose, I wanted to get some heroic fantasy atmosphere.
7 handheld exposures HDR tonemapped with Photomatix 4, bird from a single exposure, post processed with the new Nik Color Efex Pro V4 and AutoFX Mystical 2.

“The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle.” - Anais Nin
Are you in for a tip? This winter is slowly coming to an end, at least we hope so :) The word is out that there is still few snow days left ahead of us so I thought that one more snow shooting tip might come useful. THE TIP: Since almost all cameras will underexpose your image while shooting snow it is safe to manually overexpose your image in most occasions. To be on a safer side I always bracket my exposures, in one step increments, in those situations. What do you think?
Small change of perspective can be a great thing, right? Soft evening light was just beautiful that evening from the south side. Amazing sky textures were forming quickly. The wind painted sky was done using one of the Sony apps. I shot that night different variations of the sky, water and the city and mixed them together for the final result. What do you think?

This shot was taken in front of the New York's Grand Central Station last year. In an attempt to take some good shots out of that location I was shooting inside and out. The busyness and architecture is what I was drown to here and I wanted to showcase that in my work. This one is by far one of my favorites from that evening. What do you think?
