A shot of the Colorado River from the desert view tower location during the perfect inversion which happened during the last Thanksgiving Day weekend. I have more pictures of the fog filled canyon in photostream which I have posted earlier. I took this one when there was a small opening in the river of clouds that were filling the canyon. This only lasted for a couple of seconds and it was fascinating to see the sunlight under the clouds and the muddy river snaking through the canyon.
This was one of my favorite shots from this trip. Thanks for visiting. Enjoy!

On our way back from the trip we decided to start early and when I say early we started at 4 am and headed back via the Grand Canyon National Park. As we got near to the desert view tower area my wife started to get excited as she could see the brilliant sunrise which was happening right behind us.
Once we got to the desert view parking lot we literally ran to the view point in the freezing cold. The wind along the rim of the canyon was lifting my tripod with D800 and Nikkor 24-70 straight off the ground. I had to literally hold the tripod down while taking this stitch panorama shot of the amazing colors of the desert view sunrise.
Thanks for visiting and many thanks for all the love on the last picture, I truly appreciate it.
