We got fridge temperature in recent days and wind chill reached to 9F (-12C). Thinking about icicles on rocks, my friend and I went to Great Falls National Park in the early morning. To our surprise, we cannot find ice anywhere due to the rapid water flow. Luckily, sunrise lighted up the curving river. Using long exposure, I could imagine what would look like if the water flow became icy.
Standing along the top of the trail the Potomac looks deceptively calm. The muddy water tells a different story however.
