Glacier Point is a viewpoint above Yosemite Valley at an elevation of 2200 meters. It offers a superb view of several of Yosemite National Park's well-known landmarks, most notably the Half Dome.
Photo tips: In late afternoon, Half Dome is nicely illuminated. You'll need wide lens to capture the whole valley, or roughly 50 mm to focus on Half Dome only.
Getting there: Glacier Point can be reached from the Valley via Glacier Point Road. The road is usually open from June through October. In winter, Glacier Point Road closes due to snow, and access to Glacier Point from the Badger Pass Ski Area is only by ski or snowshoe.
