Shores of the Lake Chungara (4500m elevation) offer beautiful views of the Parinacota volcano (6380m) with Sajama volcano (6542m) in the background.
Photo tips: Delta of a small stream flowing into the Lake Chungara brings enough water to grow grass for Alpacas grazing there. Water is frozen in the morning, making it a very nice foreground.
If you go a bit to the North along the lake shores, you can get some Yareta plants in the foreground. Or, just get closer to the lake and you can get nice reflections when the water is calm. And probably some flamingos as a bonus... ;-)
Getting there: Just drive the main road (11-CH) and park across, there's a fairly large parking.
Taken shortly after sunrise along the shores of Lago Chungara.
I was hoping for a colorful sunrise, but it was blocked by some clouds in the East. I like the result anyway, it's just different than expected. ;-)
