The star attraction of a fall foliage road trip to Vermont has ti be the Stowe community church located close to the northern border of the state. My plan for the road trip was to drive all the way north on scenic rt 100 and then cross over west at Smuggler’s Notch before driving south along the coast of Lake Champlain in upstate New York.
The persistent overcast sky and drizzling didn’t help me a lot with the compositions that I had in mind. Add to that, a hastily planned trip that didn’t allow any changes to the plan resulted in me struggling to get good images. My original plan was to get a sunrise shot of the church since the outlook point is at the parking lot of a local insurance agency. But when I woke up in the morning, it was pouring down, so I went back to sleep and headed out once the rain subsidized a bit. The sky was still overcast, and it was drizzling, and I didn’t manage to get the image I had in mind. At the time, I didn’t consider posting this image, but when I look at these images now, I understand that with a few adjustments, it could have been a very good image.
Since I didn’t do any of that, I had to rely on some creative editing and a fair bit of cropping to get it to a halfway decent shot.
Kind of an overdone view, but hey, I was here during foliage season, so I had to get a shot of my own. This is a view of the Stowe Community Church...
