On Trg slobode, behind the Roman Catholic Cathedral, the Administrative Building of the Roman Catholic Church Municipality was built in 1909, according to the plans of Timisoara architect Ištvan Barta - today it is the seat and residence of the Bishop of Banat. In accordance with its purpose, the building is one of the most valuable examples of Art Nouveau in the architecture of Zrenjanin, in terms of the design of the interior space and its exterior decoration. According to balanced proportions and mass ratios, the building gives the impression of monumentality even though it is located at the very bottom of the plot, behind the church, and compared to it, it is much smaller in size.
The facade of the one-story building is designed asymmetrically. The right half of the building, where the entrance is located, is emphasized by an interesting architectural motif in the form of doxat on consoles surmounted by an attic of curved lines. The window openings on the ground floor are designed as bifores, and on the first floor there are large trapezoidal three-leaf windows. On the facade, there are ornaments of typical Art Nouveau style, in the form of wreaths and geometrically stylized floral details.
