Rotterdam is a vibrant city located in the western part of the Netherlands. It is known for its modern architecture, bustling port, and diverse cultural scene. For photography enthusiasts, Rotterdam offers a plethora of stunning locations to capture the city's unique character. From the iconic Erasmus Bridge to the colorful Cube Houses, there are plenty of architectural marvels to photograph. The city's bustling streets, lively markets, and picturesque canals also provide excellent opportunities for street and landscape photography.

After a whole day walking around in Rotterdam, I ended with this location. I blended 2 long exposures with a 5 bracketed shot to obtain this result.

Rotterdam has so many oppurtunities to grab some great shots. This isn't my best one from Rotterdam, but it has some cool atmosphere.

The Cube Houses, was one of the places I did't wan't to miss in Rotterdam. This really is some twisted architecture. When you find the right spot, it's just like a kaleidoscope. Saw several times this particular shot on the net, always been amazed by its geometry. Sitting on my butt, taking the time for framing, didn't want to make mistakes for this one.

After that iconic shot I upped earlier, I tried out some more long exposure shots of the cube houses. I made several shots with a global view, not specifically centred. Just 1 came up as a good shot, the cube houses wasn't that easy to manage.
No way, did it again, just a few steps backwards, for a different framing. the wind is still coming from the same direction and the cloud movement is perfectly aligned again. Woohoow.

After the blue hour shots at the floating pavilion, I was just to late for some blue hour shots of the Erasmus bridge. Anyway, I had a try, they are not bad, but I pefer when there still is just a little light in the sky.
After spending some time making long exposure shots of the cube houses, I felt like taking some details. I wanted to respect the cubist form, the reason I made square shots of it. While I was processing this series, I suddenly started thinking of The Beatles. We all know that track named 'Yellow Submarine'. Isn't it part of our collective memory. I just couldn't get that song out of my head.

One month after all my camera equipment was stolen, I am back in business. I decided to switch to a mirrorless camera and I am happy with the first results. This is a view of Rotterdam with the iconic Erasmus Bridge.

After that iconic shot I upped earlier, I tried out some more long exposure shots of the cube houses. Again I took my time for framing it. When I reviewed this shot on my camera, I was completely blown away. I think it's my most lucky long exposer shot ever made. The cloud movement is perfectly parallel to the roof, from left to right, amazing.
