House on Fire
Mule Canyon - House on Fire

I just couldn't miss this location on my trip. A famous spot where morning sunlight gets reflected by sandstone to create an illusion of an house in red flames. Nice spot to enjoy, particularly if you're lucky and are alone here!

When that shutter clicks, anything else that can be done afterward is not worth consideration...

Vista house on the shores of the Columbia River Gorge. This has to be one of the most photographed buildings in the west coast as this is a prominent feature in all of the iconic Columbia River gorge shots taken from women’s forum park. We were here for a sunset shot, my wife and I had a good spot overlooking the Columbia River towards Portland when the last light of the day hit us lighting up the vista house in beautiful golden light.

This only lasted for a few minutes and I am glad I had the presence of mind to snap away. I later tried to get a more symmetric location of the house but the light had simply gone away. I am glad I took this one while I had the chance.

Thanks for visiting. Have a nice day..

Vista house is probably one of the most recognized buildings in Oregon. This beautiful building can be observed in the most iconic of the Columbia River Gorge photographs. It provides the necessary scale and depth to an iconic composition of the landmark feature of Oregon. The Vista House was built in 1917 on one of the most beautiful scenic points on the Historic Columbia River Highway. It was constructed to provide travelers a place to rest and refresh themselves as they made their way down the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.

On our first proper foray into Oregon, we visited the women’s forum park on our first evening and got a classic wide angle shot of this iconic composition. But the next day while coming back from another trip we saw the building and decided on a whim to check it out. The sunset was pretty washed out that day so we had no major plans to visit any particular location. We had to wait for about 5 mins for a parking spot to open up but it did not feel very crowded. As the golden hour reached its peak we had some nice warm light on the building and I thought it would make an interesting shot. I tried to get a higher vantage point to get the building along with the gorge below but couldn’t find any and instead ended up crossing the road and taking a shot of the building with some light trails in the lower third portion of the composition. Not one of my best images but a simple composition of an interesting building.

The "Narrows" are upstream from the main Zion Canyon, where the walls squeeze to slot canyon dimensions: 1,500 feet tall and as narrow as 30 feet wide in places. In these spots, the water flows from wall to wall so hiking it involves a lot of wading through the Virgin River

¿Existir o vivir?_

Pues eso, que preferís: vivir o existir?

Lindisfarne Priory on Holy Island was one of the most important centres of early Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England. It is still a place of pilgrimage today, the dramatic approach across the causeway adding to the fascination of the site (English Heritage)
