This photo is very predictable if you are in Edinburgh, I think everyone who has been there knows this view. But even if it's been photographed thousands of times that's no reason not to get your own shot ;-)
We stayed not to far away in a great Guesthouse, the Froach house. If you ever happen to be in Edinburgh and search for a nice place to stay this is it. Beautiful interiors, great breakfast, friendly people!
For this shot I used a Lee 0.6 soft grad. Since the sunset was wasted by the cloud cover I waited for the first lights in the city and captured it during blue hour, one of the best times for Cityscapes I think.
