Edinburgh with Dugald Stewart Monument

Probably the most famous view of Edinburgh with the Dugald Stewart Monument in the foreground and the old town down below.

This photo is very predictable if you are in Edinburgh, I think everyone who has been there knows this view. But even if it's been photographed thousands of times that's no reason not to get your own shot ;-)

We stayed not to far away in a great Guesthouse, the Froach house. If you ever happen to be in Edinburgh and search for a nice place to stay this is it. Beautiful interiors, great breakfast, friendly people!

For this shot I used a Lee 0.6 soft grad. Since the sunset was wasted by the cloud cover I waited for the first lights in the city and captured it during blue hour, one of the best times for Cityscapes I think.
