Natural Bridges State Beach at Santa Cruz, CA. The park features a natural bridge across a section of the beach. It is also well known as a hot spot to see monarch butterfly migrations. The Monarch Butterfly Natural Preserve is home to up to 150,000 monarch butterflies from October through early February.
This location has been on my mind since I moved to CA for a sunset shoot and finally convinced my wife to make it to here to get the stormy sunset this weekend. Unfortunately we spend a little too much time capturing the Redwood trees en route and barely reached here for the sunset. I took this shot with the LEE 0.6 ND Grad and blending three exposures. I am really happy how it turned out and hope all of you enjoy it as well and thanks for visiting and the comments & faves...

Another shot of the Natural Bridges state Beach, I shot this one from the Parking lot just after the sunset. I wish i was bit earlier because as we were driving up to the lot the entire clouds were lit up in pink light. I hope to get there one day and hoe to catch that elusive sunset. Thanks for the visits ,comments and faves..

This park features 15 miles of hiking and riding trails through a variety of forested areas including redwoods, mixed evergreens, riparian, Ponderosa pine, as well as rare ancient marine deposits called Santa Cruz sand hills. We took this shot while visiting the Henry Cowell state park en route to the natural bridges state park in Santa Cruz. This is an awesome location to see some old growth Redwoods and spend some time on a leisurely hike traversing the simple trail through the state park exploring the amazing tall giants around here.
This is an HDR capture using HDR Efex pro 2 for the first time and I am liking the results a lot much better than the software I used previously. Enjoy and hope all had a great Thanksgiving!!
