Vik Church

Vik Church is a picturesque landmark located in the small village of Vík, Iceland. This charming church is situated on a hilltop overlooking the village and the Atlantic Ocean, making it a popular photography location for tourists and locals alike. The church's unique black exterior and white roof create a striking contrast against the surrounding landscape, making it a must-visit spot for photographers looking to capture the beauty of Iceland. In addition to Vik Church, Vík offers a variety of other stunning photography locations, including the Reynisfjara black sand beach, the Dyrhólaey peninsula, and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.

The village of Vík with a population of 300 is the southernmost village in Iceland, located on the main ring road around 110 miles from Reykjavík. The church is built on a hill, the only place to take refuge if Katla volcano erupts and the glacier melt floods the village below.

My early morning take on Vik Church, Iceland.

I've cloned a little clutter and a flag pole out of the shot, but I think this makes for a much cleaner, visually appealing image.

ISO 400 due to wind making sharp shots difficult at slow shutter speeds.
