The lighthouse looks great from this side! There are several spots you can choose, some might be safely accessible only during low tide.
Photo tips: Your composition might be influenced by tide, since the rocks visibility depends on where the sea currently is. Generally speaking you need very wide lens, roughly in the 15-24mm range.
In summer, you get better side light at the lighthouse during sunrise, in winter during sunsets.
Getting there: Just about 150m of quite easy walk from the Fanad Head Parking. Note that the last part might include some cliff climbing and can be dangerous if you venture too far!

La penisola di Fanad è uno degli angoli imperdibili del Donegal. Vi attendono scogliere selvagge e magnifiche spiagge sabbiose ideali per una giornata di sole. Il punto sicuramente più suggestivo e romantico, come una cartolina anni ’20, è il faro posizionato sulla punta rocciosa più estrema di Fanad Head. Venne costruito dopo una funesta tragedia in mare avvenuta durante una tempesta: un naufragio in cui perì tutto l’equipaggio della fregata Saldanha. Unico sopravvissuto, un pappagallo.
