This is a slightly less known view of Skógafoss, unlike the frontal view from below. The cliffs and foliage around create an interesting framing of the waterfall.

Photo tips: This is very close to the waterfall, so wide to ultra-wide angle lens are useful here in order to nicely frame the waterfall by the surrounding cliffs.

Getting there: From the parking below the waterfall, walk a bit uphill the path to the right of it.

UPDATE: As of 2021, there's a sign strictly forbidding this area. Unfortunately, if you don't want to get into trouble, you can't photograph from here anymore. :-(

Skógafoss' Troll In Icelandic mythology, trolls are gigantic evil ugly dim-witted man-eating creatures that live in caves in the mountains. Some are benevolent while others are formidable monsters with a nasty temper that eat people and livestock. Trolls can only travel at night and immediately turn to stone if exposed to sunlight.
