Classic Prague
Prague Classical
by Adelheid Smitt

I think most blue hour photos of Prague feature the Charles Bridge in some way or other. Mine are no exception, this is my third photo of Prague, and perhaps the most famous view with Prague Castle and the St. Vitus Cathedral on the hill. There are still some more views I would like to photograph on a future visit. I spent half the night and an entire morning trying to capture this mountain the way I wanted too, in the end I didn’t quite get what I wanted. I was waiting for a bit of sun to peak through the mountains behind me to shine on the top of the mountain.. but that never happened :/. I still really enjoy this photo, cant control the weather. Hope you enjoy this photo :)

Prague - Golden City
Prague Classical
by Michael

How about another cityscape. After rainy days this sunset in Prague was a nice surprise. And it lasted long enough till finally the city lights went on and I had both the colorfull sunset sky and the lit up city in one photo.

I did some exposure blending here and my typical postprocessing. If you're interested, I have a tutorial describing my whole workflow. Here are some infos:

PS: this photo was taken with a pre-production version of the new Tamron 70-200mm Di VC USD lense. Sharp thing!

cheers

Some time ago I posted an early morning shot of the Charles Bridge in Prague. In the evening it is better to take this from a distance because the throngs of people on the bridge will make it impossible to shoot on the bridge. This photo looks towards the old city after Sunset. www.flickr.com/photos/adelheids-pictures/31284281302

Watching Sunset
Charles Bridge from Mánes Bridge
by Jiri Hajek

I should have been here earlier. After setting up camera and tripod, the Sun was already almost hidden behind hills on the right. That said, I like how the left part is lit by the last direct rays, while the Charles Bridge in shadows complements it on the right.

Will return sometimes though to capture this scene slightly more before sunset in order to have also the bridge illuminated. Maybe the next summer.

In questa foto ho voluto rendere "vecchio" il ponte che vecchio è nel nome ed un antico bianco e nero era quello che cercavo.

"Dusk at the London Eye" * London England
The London Eye from Westminster Bridge
by Dominic Nessi
  • The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and is the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3 million visitors annually.

The structure is 135 meters (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 meters (394 ft). When it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel.

Supported by an A-frame on one side only, unlike the taller Nanchang and Singapore wheels, the Eye is described by its operators as "the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel".

The London Eye adjoins the western end of Jubilee Garden, on the South Bank of the River Thames between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge beside County Hall, in the London Borough of Lambeth.

Down by the River Thames on the Embankment, just along from the Houses of Parliament and looking towards the Eye, which was starting to light up as darkness descended.

Raising Huayna Potosí

There are various great foreground elements around this spot, but I really liked the beautiful patches of grass here or there. Together with the first rays of Sun on Huayna Potosí it makes a very memorable morning to me.
